Biography

Playing music is a key part of my life, and has naturally lead me to develop a strong interest in acoustics. I discovered bioacoustics during my master in acoustics, and I instantly knew that I wanted to work within this field. I also wanted my work to be meaningful with regards to the climate emergency. That is why the BioacousticAI project feels really relevant and exciting to me by combining both bioacoustics and taking steps to protect wildlife.

Now, let’s say that you record animal vocalisations. You can extract a lot of information like the species, the specific individual, the type of call… My research will consist in developing a deep learning model that can retrieve all this information simultaneously. This will enable a better monitoring of animal populations, which is crucial for biodiversity assessment and protection.
